Economic Development is a team effort aimed at creating jobs and improving the
well-being of communities. Today, successful economic development programs are
broad based efforts which include the attraction of new business and industry,
retention and expansion of existing firms, development of financial and human
resources, as well as public service improvement and overall community revitalization.
Intercounty Electric is working with statewide organizations, The Missouri Department
of Economic Development, University Extensions, and local economic development
organizations to create jobs and improve the quality of life for people in our service area.
Location
IECA's service territory, located in south central Missouri, is an inviting location of the Missouri Ozarks, providing decades of electric utility experience and dependable, reliable energy for homes and businesses.
Transportation Access
Our service area is in the heart of excellent transportation access. Interstate I-44, US Highway 63 and US Highway 60, provides you the backbone to transportation east and west. Railroad services are available and close to these major highways.
Loan and Grant Program
Through our rural economic development revolving loan program, we provide loans to eligible recipients who are for-profit, not-for-profit and public entities that desire to establish, enhance businesses, and create job opportunities and services that benefit the community. IECA also provides assistance in locating and processing grants.
Communication
IECA can provide the fiber connections you need to build the network you desire. As a part of the Cooperative Broadband Network, local access to the network is accomplished through an extensive interconnection with local electric cooperatives, regional power companies, municipal power companies, cable television providers and local telephone companies. With co-location facilities in major Points of Presence, the Cooperatives' Broadband Network also has interconnection with other carriers, gaining access to anywhere in the world.
Enterprise Zones
In any of Intercounty Electric's five enterprise zones, tax benefits can be earned by facilities creating at least two new jobs and investing a minimum of $100,000. A company's qualification is based on its' Standard Industrial Classification or SIC code.
