The Rural Electric Youth Tour Essay Contest is open to High School Juniors in the Intercounty Electric service area including Cabool HS, Houston HS, Licking HS, Plato HS, Rolla HS, St. James HS, Salem HS, Summersville HS, and Mtn. Grove HS.

The top three essays from each school are chosen and a winner is selected to go on an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC from June 11 through June 17, 2010.  The other two finalist are sent to Jefferson City for an all-expense paid trip from July 14 through July 16, 2010 to participate in the Cooperative Youth Conference & Leadership Experience (CYCLE).

To enter, the student must write an 250-500 word essay on the topic: What role does today's youth play in energy conservation?  Please check with the high school counselor or English teacher to check on the deadline for the essay to be turned in.  Intercounty must receive the top three from each school by March 1, 2010.
